ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday dispatched files of five more parliamentarians and MPAs, who possessed fake degrees, to the district police officers (DPOs) concerned for the registration of cases against them.
The police in the districts concerned would register fraud and corruption cases against the members of the parliament and MPAs.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), Justice (r) Hamid Ali Mirza, instructed the DPOs of the districts concerned to register cases against three MNAs and two MPAs.
Sources said that two former MNAs Mudassar Qayyum Nahra, Ghulam Dastagir Rajar as well as one incumbent MNA from Lodhran Hayatullah Khan Tarin, and MPA Nasim Nasir Khawaja and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa MNA Abdul Qayyum were found guilty of possessing fake degrees.
The sources added that the DPOs are constitutionally bound to follow the instruction of the ECP in these cases.
