WAH CANTT: A tanker carrying fuel for the NATO forces in Afghanistan caught fire when it was attacked during wee hours of Monday, motorway and Wah Cantonment Police said.
Talking to APP, National Highways and Motorway Police Chief Patrolling Officer, (CPO) DSP Malik Muhammad Iqbal, said that the oil tanker was fired upon at around 2am on the GT Road near interchange link road.
“On receiving the information, patrolling cars of motorway police reached the spot and diverted the traffic to avert any untoward incident,” he added.
The CPO further said the firefighting units from Pakistan Ordnance Factories and tehsil municipal administration, Taxila, were also summoned to extinguish the fire.
