Karachi: SI, aides convicted of 15kg gold robbery
KARACHI: A sessions court on Monday sentenced a police officer and five others to 10 years in prison in a gold robbery case.
The convicts were also ordered to pay a fine of Rs500,000 each and in case of default they would undergo an additional one-year imprisonment.
The court found sub-inspector Abdul Sattar, Mohammad Shoaib, Noman Khan, Aga Nasir, Kashif Memon and Shahzad guilty of looting 15 kilograms of gold from a workshop in Kharadar in January last year.
Additional district and sessions judge (south) Jangu Khan pronounced the verdict after hearing both sides.
A case (FIR No 17/2010) was registered under Sections 392 (punishment for robbery) and 395 (punishment for dacoity) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code at the Kharadar Police Station.
