Swabi: 2 outlaws shot dead
SWABI, March 4: Two proclaimed offenders who had allegedly snatched two Kalashnikovs from personnel at Kalabat post on Dec 14, 2010, were shot dead in an encounter with Chota Lahor police on Friday night.
The two outlaws were killed in far-flung Jaganat area where they along with their accomplices had blocked a road to loot the passengers. One seeing a police patrolling party, which was in the area, the robbers opened fire, triggering an exchange of fire with police, which continued for over 40 minutes. DSP Chota Lahor Mohammad Arif supervised the police action.
The murdered outlaws were identified as Umer Nawab alias Balay and Nooral Wahab alias Mulla of Dobian, who were presently residing in Tordher, Chota Lahor. Their aides managed to escape taking advantage of darkness. The police recovered pistols and Kalashnikovs from them.
