MQM activist gunned down in Gulistan-e-Jauhar
KARACHI: A former activist of MQM was shot dead near Lal Flats, Gulistan-e-Jauhar within the limits of Sharah-e-Faisal Police Station.
The victim, 38-year-old Syed Hassan Asif, son of Syed Hassan Ijtiba, was a resident of Farhan Towers, Gulistan-e-Jauhar. The victim was in his car (A-7641), when two armed motorcyclists intercepted him and opened indiscriminate fire killing him on the spot. The culprits managed to flee unopposed from the scene.
SHO Shahzad Solehri said that the victim was a former activist of MQM Unit-108 of Shah Faisal Colony, adding that he received three bullets. The police recovered five empty shells of 9mm pistol from the scene.
Police said that the victim was an employee of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities. The deceased was father of one child and was currently living in Gulistan-e-Jauhar.
