Hyderabad: ASI held for son`s crimes
HYDERABAD, March 10: Police picked up on Wednesday an ASI of Kotri investigation wing police as his son Akbar Bhatti was involved in the kidnapping of Tanveer Rafiq, son of a transporter, Mullah Rafiq.
DPO Pir Fareed Jan Sarhandi claimed at a press conference on March 8 that four alleged dacoits were killed in an encounter on Tuesday in Tando Allahyar police limits by a team of Hyderabad police.
They went there after receiving information that Tanveer Rafiq was kept in sugarcane fields near Tando Allahyar. One of the bandits killed in the encounter carried a head money of Rs500,000.
The alleged bandits included Nasir alias Nawab, Ghulam Mohammad alias Haji, Rasheed alias Qurban Dayo and Khadim Lashari.
The DPO said that Akbar Bhatti, Asghar Buledi, Ashiq Mallah, Hamza Lashari and around 12 to 14 others were absconding in the case.
He had said that Tanveer was kept in the house of Akbar Bhatti in Qasimabad before being moved to Tando Allahyar.
Police sources said that Akbar Bhatti is the son of Ghulam Abbas Bhatti, an ASI of Kotri investigation wing police. He lives in Sahrish Nagar in the jurisdiction of Qasimabad police station. Tanveer Rafiq was taken to his house after being kidnapped.
Police have detained ASI Bhatti to force his son to surrender.
HEAD MONEY: Police have obtained details of dacoit, Nazir Ahmed alias Naseer alias Qurban Dayo, who was killed in encounter with Hyderabad police on March 8.
