2 killed, five children injured in robbery bid in Quetta
QUETTA: Two persons, including a child, were killed and five other children sustained bullet injures in a bike-snatching incident in Quetta on Tuesday.
According to official sources, two unidentified armed bandits on a motorbike were trying to snatch a bike on Arbab Karam Khan Road when a passerby tried to stop the robbery. He raised alarm after which people gathered and tried to overpower the robbers.
One of the robbers started indiscriminate firing. Resultantly, one of the robbers and a child were killed on the spot and five other children received bullet injuries. The other robber managed to escape from the scene.
Police rushed to the spot soon after the incident. The deceased and injured were taken to the Bolan Medical Complex Hospital. The killed robber was identified as Zulfiqar Ali, while child identified as Lal Bibi and injured as Naz Bibi, Alma Bibi, Gulla Bibi, Zhara Bibi and Tamem Khan.
Police official said that the identity of the deceased robber was revealed from his national identity card found in his pocket. DIG (operations) visited the hospital, and said that police was investigating the incident and soon they would arrest the robber.
