Islamabad: Hamid Kazmi handed over to FIA
ISLAMABAD: Former religious affairs minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi was given in the custody of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on five days’ physical remand here on Wednesday.
The former minister was brought to the court of senior civil judge Mohammad Aslam Gondal by an FIA team amid tight security.
The handcuffed minister was produced in the court at around 1:15pm for seeking his physical remand in connection with the Hajj corruption case.
Sources in the FIA said the remand was sought to investigate the accused about his assets and alleged corruption in hiring accommodation for Pakistani Hajj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia which caused Rs200 million loss to the national exchequer.
