Six policemen injured in bomb attack on van in Kohat
KOHAT: Six policemen, including a station house officer, were injured in a bomb attack on mobile van of Doaba police station in Darsamand area of Hangu on Wednesday morning. Officials said that the attackers also opened firing on the van after it was hit by the improvised explosive device. They said that police retaliated the firing, but the attackers disappeared in the nearby mountains.
The injured policemen included SHO Haleem Khan, ASI Shafi Khan, constables Samiullah, Sher Muhammad and Naqeebullah and ex-serviceman of police Shaukat Hayat. The sources said that the Frontier Constabulary and police teams had started a search operation in the area, but no arrests were reported till late night. They said that officials of Doaba police were coming back after checking a CD shop, which was blown up by militants in Warai area on Tuesday night. They said that another police vehicle going ahead of the mobile van escaped the attack.
