5 killed across Lahore
LAHORE: About five people were killed in separate incidents across the provincial capital on Sunday.
In the first incident, a 25-year-old youth was stabbed to death in the jurisdiction of Lower Mall police. The deceased was identified as Nadeem alias Babu, a resident of Shujabad, Multan. Police reached the scene in time and arrested accused persons, namely Akhtar Hussain and Fida Hussain. Further investigation is in process.
In the second incident, a 30- year-old man was crushed to death by a recklessly driven trolley in the limits of Shera Kot. The body could not be identified. Similarly, another 30-year-old man was crushed to death by a speeding car in the jurisdiction of Chung police. The deceased was identified as Shabbir, resident of Thokar Niaz Baig. Police handed the dead body over to his family.
Separately, a dead body of 45-year-old man was recovered from the limits of Sattokatla police. Another dead body of a 55-year-old man was recovered from the Lower Mall police precincts. Police suspects the man was a drug addict and died of drug overdose. The body has been shifted to a morgue for autopsy.
Separately, a 14-year-old rape victim along with her mother appealed the CM and the chief justice during a press conference at the Lahore Press Club on Sunday.
The victim, Sakina Bibi, daughter of Bashir, a resident of Ajnayanwala (Farooq Abad) claimed that the accused Syed Kalim Shah and Chand Guru raped her on gun point when her cousin Shahbaz Bhatti took her to Kalim’s house a few days ago. The family alleged that police has joined hands with the accused, hence asking for justice from the authorities.
