Peshawar: Man acquitted in drug pushing case
PESHAWAR: An additional district and sessions judge on Monday acquitted a person charged with drug pushing as the local police could not prove his involvement in the offence.
The judge, Muneera Abbassi, in her capacity as special judge (control of narcotics), observed that the evidence on record could not connect the accused, Muhammad Naveed Anjum, with the offence.
The accused, a resident of Maqsood Abad on Charsadda Road, was arrested on July 22, 2010, by Faqirabad police. The police alleged that they had stopped a car bearing registration No.AGT 491 Sindh, which was driven by the accused. It was alleged that 15kg charas was recovered from secret cavities of the said car.
