Robbers strike during match in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI: Three masked men entered into a house while its inmates were watching the cricket World Cup semi-final on Wednesday and took away saving certificates of one million rupees, gold ornaments and cash.
Abid Nadeem was watching the Pakistan, India match on television along with his family when three gunmen wearing masks entered into the house and pulled out their guns. They held the inmates hostage and forced them to give them the keys of the cupboards and the locker.
After searching the cupboards, the robbers fetched saving certificates worth one million rupees, gold ornaments weighing 10 tolas and Rs50,000 in cash and later escaped from the scene.
Earlier, four unidentified gunmen broke into the house of Muhammad Naeem in the Banni police area and robbed 20,000 Euro, gold jewellery weighing 20 tolas, Rs100,000 in cash and two pistols.
