Tribal elder killed in Wana
WANA: The bullet-riddled body of an influential tribal elder, who was kidnapped from South Waziristan about a month ago, was found on Monday. Eyewitnesses said that the body of Sardar Aminuddin Mehsud, chief of the Shamunkhel tribe, was recovered from Chena Khwa area, some 45km south of Wana.
Family sources said that unidentified gunmen had kidnapped Sardar Amin from Wana, adding that they were in a tinted-glass car. No group has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping and the murder of the chieftain. Over 200 pro-government tribal elders have been killed in South Waziristan since militants intensified their activities in the area.
