Lahore: Teenagers lift 15 bikes for fun
LAHORE: The Gujjarpura police investigation wing was completely shocked to listen to the confession of two teenagebike lifters who stated the motive behind their crime was just enjoyment.
Police investigators said the rare instance had completely changed the social dimension of crime. According to the modus operandi, two school-goers used to lift the bikes and started one-wheeling till the tank of the bike went dry.
The young accused including a 12-year-old Salman, student of class 8th in Comprehensive High School located at Gujjarpura Chowk and his 13-year-old accomplice Jamshed, recently promoted in class 9th in Islamia High School located in Misri Shah, were caught red-handed by the police concerned on April 3 when they were showing harmful tactics on bike near their residence in China Scheme A-1.
“We lifted the bikes just for the sake of enjoyment. We robbed bikes by using five main keys, which have been yet placed in our homes, indulged in one-wheeling and left the bikes where their petrol was finished,” both teenagers confessed before the Gujjarpura police investigators after they were apprehended.
The Civil Lines Police Division SP (Investigation) Cap (r) Liaquat Ali Malik said the involvement of their parents could not be ruled out. He further said the accused had confessed of their crimes, which they committed not less than 15 times. “We have recovered four bikes form their possession while over 15 bikes are yet to be recovered,” he added.
Replying to a query, the SP investigation said four cases (267/11, 268/11, 269/11 and 270/11) have been lodged against the teenagers while the accused would be sent to the jail after their challans are completed.
