2 dead in suicide attack on Quetta Police Colony
QUETTA: A suicide attack on the house of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Investigations Wazir Nasir Khan in Quetta on Thursday killed two people including the bomber and a police constable.
According to Express 24/7 correspondent, police said that the attacker entered the Residential Colony of police officers early in the morning at around 8am, in an explosive laden car which he rammed into the house of DIG Investigations.
As a result, one police constable, who was standing at the gate, died and nine others, including DIG Khan and several children, were injured.
The injured were shifted to Civil Hopital Quetta, where at least two people were said to be in serious state. The police informed that that DIG Khan, who was the apparent target of the attack, had also received serious injuries but was now out of danger.
The police said that they were collecting the scattered body parts of the bomber however it was too early to identify him adding that investigations were underway.
