Panjgur: Remote-controlled blast kills 1, injures 17
QUETTA: A man was killed and 17 others, including eight personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC), injured in a remote controlled explosion about 530km from Quetta on Friday.
According to official sources, an improvised explosive device (IED) had been planted on a motorbike parked in the busy Chitakan Bazaar of Panjgur District. It was detonated by remote control when an FC vehicle on routine patrol passed by.
As a result, ten civilians and eight security personnel received splinter wounds. Police and security forces cordoned off the area and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital, where one of the injured, identified as Abdul Hameed, succumbed to his injuries before receiving medical aid.
