Lover shoots woman, her husband in Lahore
LAHORE, April 11: A 30-year-old woman and her 35-year-old husband were shot dead allegedly by the woman`s lover over the custody of a six-month-old child in Kamahan village on Kamahan Road on Monday.
Nishtar Colony police said Murtaza, a resident of Tandlianwala, came to the house of Muhammad Nawaz to take custody of “his six-month old child from Nawaz`s wife” and the row resulted in the double murder.
Police enquiries showed that Nawaz`s wife Irshad eloped with Murtaza a few months ago and returned home some days ago.
Quoting relatives, Nishtar Colony DSP Khalid Mehmood Afzal said Murtaza, who was cousin of the woman, claimed that he was father of Irshad`s youngest child. He said Nawaz, father of four, exchanged words with him when he saw him in his house and Murtaza opened fire at Nawaz and his wife during the argument.
The DSP said a case had been registered against Murtaza, who fled after the double murder.
