Police shoot outlaw in Gujrat
GUJRAT: Police claimed to have gunned down a dacoit with Rs0.2million head money in an alleged encounter near Shah Sirmust Village on Sunday night.
Police said a vehicle of Lalamusa Sadar Police was on routine patrol in the area without revolving light when it suddenly came under fire by unidentified outlaws.
Soon a heavy contingent of police was called on the spot and crossfire ensued between the police and the outlaws who were positioned in the fields near the village.
The police said the crossfire resulted in the death of an outlaw, later identified as Shehzad Maseeh of Jattowakal Village. Two unidentified accomplices of the killed outlaw fled the scene, the police said.
According to police, Shehzad was wanted in several robbery cases and carried Rs0.2million head money. Police have recovered a Kalashnikov, hundreds of bullet rounds and two hand grenades from the scene. Lalamusa Sadar Police have registered a case against the outlaws.
