Three lose life in separate incidents in metropolis
KARACHI: Three people were killed in separate incidents in different parts of the metropolis, police said on Thursday. A transporter was gunned down in Afghan bus stand near Al-Asif Square in the jurisdiction of Sohrab Goth police station.
Saeedullah, 40, son of Bahadur Ali, resident of Ali Town, Sachal area, was standing at Afghan bus stand near Al-Asif Square when unidentified armed men opened fire on him, resultantly he received a bullet in his upper torso. Police shifted him to a private hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police said the personal enmity might be behind the incident.
Meanwhile, a body of a young man, bearing torture marks, was found from Mai Kolachi in the limits of Jackson police station. The victim was later identified as 24-year-old Munir Khan, son of Abdul Qayum. The police found his two-day-old body from bushes in Mai Kolachi, Keamari Town. They shifted it to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.
The victim died due to attack of a sharp edge weapon on his head, police said, adding that he hailed from district Mansehra. The body was later moved to the Edhi Morgue for identification.
Separately, a man was crushed to death by a vehicle near Jauhar Chowrangi, Gulistan-e-Jauhar in the remits of Shahrah-e-Faisal police station. Twenty-four-year-old Ismail, son of Rashid Khan, resident of Malir, was crossing a road in Block 19, Gulistan-e-Jauhar when a speedy vehicle hit him and ran away, resultantly he died on the spot. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for an autopsy. Police officials said the victim was a watchman of a graveyard in Malir. No case was registered till filing the report.
