Islamabad: 9 outlaws arrested
ISLAMABAD, April 16: Nine outlaws, including three female beggars, were arrested by the capital police on Saturday and recovered hashish, wine, weapons and looted items from their possession, a police spokesman said.
The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) intercepted a vehicle during routine patrolling on suspicion. During search, the CIA officials found 15 bottles of wine. They arrested the car driver.
In another incident, the Sabzi Mandi police arrested two persons and seized 1.3kg hashish and a 30-bore pistol from them. Shahzad Town police also arrested a bootlegger and recovered liquor from him.
Similarly, the Golra police arrested two alleged thieves and recovered stolen items worth Rs120,000 from them.
Meanwhile, three female beggars were arrested from different localities of the capital. Separate cases were registered against them under Beggary Act. SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan directed the police officials to further intensify campaign against anti-social elements and make effective patrolling in their respective areas.
