Karachi: 11 students injured in KU clash
KARACHI: Students of the University of Karachi (KU) whipped each other freely with iron and wooden rods when a clash broke out in the Arts Lobby, leaving 11 students injured.
Two student organisations on Wednesday made the campus a battle ground where they attacked each other with empty bottles and iron and wooden rods.
Interestingly, it all started in front of the Rangers’ personnel who were permanently deployed at the university in order to avoid any unlawful activity and when the neutral students asked them to stop the clash they were told that the Rangers were not permitted by the higher-ups to stop the clash.
Duty officer of the Mobina Town Police Station Mohammad Abbas, when contacted, informed that the clash started between 11:00-12:00pm and at least 11 people sustained bullets wounds and were shifted to a private hospital and Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment.
