Karachi: Husband stabs wife to death
KARACHI: A woman was stabbed to death by her husband in Jumma Goth within the remits of Ibrahim Hyderi police station. The incident took place at Jumma Goth, Bin Qasim Town, when 28-year-old Khadija, wife of Jaffar, went to her parents’ house after an argument with her husband who also lives in the same area.
Later, Jaffar went to his in-laws’ house and after exchanging some hot words stabbed Khadija with a dagger. Khadija was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre in critical condition where she succumbed to her injuries.
SP Tanveer Alam Odho said that the victim was a mother of two and her husband, who escaped after committing the crime, was a labour by profession. Police have registered an FIR under section 302 against Jaffar and initiated probe in the case.
Separately, police found a two-day old torture-marked body from Lyari Naddi in the limits of Sher Shah police station. Identity of the victim is yet to be ascertained. Police shifted the body to Civil Hospital Karachi, where doctors established that the victim was brutally tortured before being killed. Police later moved the body to Edhi Morgue for identification purpose. Police have registered a case against unidentified men on the complaint of state.
