Bomb hoax call stirs panic in Karachi
KARACHI: Panic gripped a commercial building situated in a busy neighbourhood of metropolis after a hoax call claimed that a powerful bomb was planted in the building.
Business Avenue Building administration received a hoax call warning against a bomb planted in the building situated within the remits of Tipu Sultan police station.
The multi-storied building was instantly vacated and police and bomb disposal squad rushed to the scene. However, they cleared the building after a thorough sweeping.
SHO Tipu Sultan police Arif Afridi said the call was a hoax and no explosive material was found from the building after it was mutually checked by police and the bomb disposal squad.
He said that the police were investigating into the incident adding that this was the fourth time such hoax call was received for the same building.
