Two men shot dead in Karachi
KARACHI: Assailants gunned down two men in as many localities of the city on Tuesday, police said. They said 28-year-old Subhan Siddiqi was sitting with friends in New Karachi’s Sector 4 when two armed men on a motorbike emerged there.
“One of the riders got off the two-wheeler, pulled out a pistol and first fired multiple shots into the air,” said an official at the Khawaja Ajmer Nagri police station. “The firing caused panic and people ran for safety. The assailant then fired at Subhan.”
The victim sustained a single bullet wound in the head and died on the spot, he said, adding that the assailants ran away after executing the job.
The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. “The victim’s family denied that he was affiliated with any political group or any other association. We have not been able to trace any enmity as the motive behind the incident,” said the official.
Meanwhile, a truck driver was shot dead in the Malir City area on Tuesday, police said. They said the truck driver, 46-year-old Ishaq Muhammad, was hit by two bullets in the chest and the head when he came out of his home for some personal work.
