Islamabad: CIA police bust 14 criminal gangs during April
ISLAMABAD: Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad police busted 14 criminal gangs during the current month of April and recovered stolen items worth Rs. 2.1 million and 13 vehicles from their possession.
According to report presented to IGP Islamabad Wajid Ali Khan Durrani about the performance of CIA Wing during the month of April, it was revealed that CIA police busted 14 gangs and arrested its 36 criminals including 10 proclaimed offenders.
A total of 13 stolen vehicles, looted items worth Rs. 2.1 million were recovered from them while illegal weapons used in the dacoity and car-snatching incidents were also recovered from them.
The nabbed persons have confessed to take away 44 vehicles from various areas of the city and further investigation is underway from them. Police teams have been constituted for the recovery of stolen cars, which they sold in other districts.
In the report presented to IGP, it was revealed that CIA successfully traced the crime cases of heinous nature and busted 14 criminal gangs. In all, 10 proclaimed offenders and court absconders were also arrested while10 persons were arrested for having 223 liquor bottles, 52-gram heroin and 520-gram hashish. As many as 28 cases of murder, dacoity were also resolved in this period and looted items worth Rs. 2.1 million were recovered from them.
