The court found Imran Sattar guilty of dishonestly issuing cheques to the complainant for the repayment of his money in 2007. A judicial magistrate (south) pronounced the order after recording evidence of witnesses and arguments from both sides.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs10,000 and in case of nonpayment, the convict would have to undergo an additional two-month imprisonment.

A case (FIR 54/2007) was registered under Section 489-F (dishonestly issuing a cheque for repayment of loan etc) of the Pakistan Penal Code at the Preedy Police Station.

The accused had been on bail and was taken into custody in the court and sent to prison along with the conviction warrant to serve out the sentence.
