KOHAT: Police claimed to have arrested a smuggler and recovered heavy quantity of hashish from its possession, on Thursday.
According to details acting on a tip off a huge quantity of hashish would be smuggled from Darra Adam Khel, DPO Kohat Mubarak Zeb Khan constituted a raiding party under the supervision of DSP Saddar Ehsan Ullah Khan.
In a drive against drug pushers in the district, police recovered a huge quantity of heroin, Charas and liquor arrested 156 accused including eight women.
District police authorities in a press release on Thursday said that on the direction of DPO Dr Muhammad Rizwan, they started a drive against drug barons and constituted 20 squads at all police stations of the district.
The seized drugs included 28kg heroin, 23kg charas, 933 bottles of liquor worth million of rupees and they sealed five distilleries. Police also recovered Rs 127,000 in cash during raids and arrested 156 accused including eight women.
