RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), No-III, Rawalpindi, on Monday declared former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf a proclaimed offender in the Benazir Bhutto murder case.
Rana Nisar Ahmed, the judge at the ATC, also ordered that an advertisement announcing that Musharraf was a proclaimed offender be published in three major newspapers in the country. The court adjourned further hearing till June 11.
RAWALPINDI, May 30: Three policemen have been arrested and a hunt is on for three more for their involvement in kidnapping a property dealer and his nephew and extorting money from them, police said on Monday.
KARACHI: Sindh police on Monday claimed to have arrested an illegal Iraqi immigrant near US Embassy, within the limits of Jackson police station.
TAXILA: Local police have arrested an employee of medicine company for embezzlement and fraud. Police sources said that Misbahul Islam, while serving as a zonal sales manager of a medicine company allegedly made fraud and embezzled Rs8.80 million in company accounts. Local police have arrested him and sent him behind the bars on the complaint of the authorities concerned.
LAHORE: The Lahore Bar Association (LBA) on Monday apprehended a fake lawyer from the premises of the District and Sessions Court. An advocate, Mian Saif-ur-Rehman had filed a complaint in the LBA office, alleging that an advocate, Shareef Hussain, who was appearing in a court against him in a case was a imposter.
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police Monday arrested 18 crime suspects in possession of looted items and a pistol and three other persons for their alleged involvement in immoral activities, a police spokesman said.
KOHAT: Nine suspected terrorists were arrested in Darra Adamkhel and Hangu district and a bullet-riddled body of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan member was found in adjoining tribal area of Kohat while an alleged militant commander surrendered to Lakki Marwat police on Monday.
SWABI, May 30: Four armed dacoits looted a branch of the National Bank in broad daylight on Monday after holding the staff at gunpoint. They took away Rs2.5 million from the branch located in Zarobi area.
GUJRANWALA: Satellite Town Police have busted three gangs of dacoits by arresting six gangsters. Looted articles and illicit arms were recovered from them, said a police spokesman here on Monday. A team of Satellite Town police headed by SHO Munawar Hussain and supervised by DSP Wasim Hussain Dar busted notorious gangs of dacoits after arresting Sardar, Arshad Ali, Shehzad Ali, Sardar Arsalan, Arshad Shafi, Khurram Shahzad and Usman. Cash, cellphones, bikes and five pistols were recovered from them. The CPO has awarded cash awards for the police team.
