Islamabad: 27 ‘culprits’ arrested during crackdown
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police, on Tuesday, claimed to have arrested four persons involved in looting rice worth Rs2.6 million and arrested 27 persons during the crackdown and search operation.
According to details, Sihala police arrested four persons who took away rice of Rs 2.6 million and also recovered the looted rice from them.
Shaukat Mehmood s/o Muzaffar Khan resident of Gora Syedan lodged a complaint with Sihala Police Station that he owned a truck (DMR-855), driven by Turab Khan.
On April 16, the driver loaded the rice on truck and had been missing since then.
Following this complaint, SP (Rural) Umer Hyat constituted a team to investigate into the matter and arrest the culprits. The team succeeded to arrest Turab Khan, Syed Yusuf Shah, Zamail Khan and Ehsan Ullah and recovered rice worth Rs. 2.6 million, which they sold in Peshawar and Bhadana.
Meanwhile Islamabad Police have arrested 27 persons during search operation and crackdown against criminal elements and recovered one kilogram hashish, 120 gram heroin and two pistols from their possessions.
