Karachi: Young man found shot dead
KARACHI: A young man was found shot dead with his badly wounded friend lying beside the body in the Kharadar area on Tuesday morning, police said. They said the deceased victim, Muzammil Memon, in his mid-20s, had been missing since Monday evening after he left his home in Kharadar to see a friend, Muhammad Hussain, in Lyari.
“It seems that they were kidnapped on Monday evening and gunned down on Tuesday morning,” said Inspector Ghulam Nabi Memon, SHO of the Kharadar police station. “The victim was a salesman at a cloth shop. His wounded friend had his own business till a few months ago but had been without a business or a job these days.”
The SHO said that Muzammil was hit by five bullets fired from a very close range while Hussain sustained multiple bullet wounds and was admitted to the Civil Hospital Karachi in a very critical condition.
“There is no immediately known motive behind the incident. We are waiting for Hussain to share with us what exactly happened to them in order to set the course of investigation,” he added.
The police later registered an FIR (191/2011) under Sections 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code on a complaint of Muzammil’s father, Qasim Memon, against unidentified suspects.
