Lahore: LDA sacks junior clerk over corruption
LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Tuesday dismissed a junior clerk for allegedly preparing forged property documents and selling plots in Johar Town.
According to a spokesman, LDA Director (administration) Shahid Fareed dismissed Rana Abdul Naeem under the Punjab Employees Efficiency Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act, 2006, after he was found guilty of selling plots to people on fake documents.
“The official also misplaced the original property file of Johar Town and Ajodhiapur village bearing No.JT/AP/1181-F in order to conceal his corruption by preparing a duplicate file without having certified copies of the documents and fulfillment of requisite formalities,” the spokesman said.
He said the authority directed Shahid Fareed, a director, to probe into the matter. The accused official was given an opportunity of personal hearing. “He also admitted to his guilt,” the spokesperson said.
