Rawalpindi: Ice cream ‘factory’ sealed
RAWALPINDI, May 3: The district health department on Tuesday sealed a ‘factory’ at Dhoke Dalal for making substandard ice cream.
A team of the health department under the supervision of Dr Ansar Ishaq raided the private house being used as a factory without getting licence.
They collected chemicals and substandard materials being used to prepare ice cream and dispatched the samples to Lahore for laboratory test.
Dr Ishaq said District Coordination Officer Saqib Zafar had directed the department to launch a drive against substandard food items.
He said substandard ice creams spoiled the health of people, especially children, and such illegal businesses would not be allowed to flourish.
