Lahore: FIRs against DMG officers
LAHORE: The Additional District and Sessions Judge has ordered the Station House Officer Police Station Islampura to register an FIR on the complaint of two PCS officers if a cognisable offence is made against the DMG officers, allegedly ordered arrest and maltreatment of the protesting PCS officers on March 18 at the Civil Secretariat.
The court passed this order on the petition of Rubina Kausar and Uzma Afzal. As per press release of the PCS officers Welfare Association, 73 PCS officers were illegally arrested from the Secretariat, and were sent to police stations. It was alleged that four lady officers were also arrested, tortured and illegally restrained with nefarious motives by male police on the directions of DMG officer Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Sami Saeed, Home Secretary Punjab Shahid Khan and District Coordination Officer Lahore Ahad Khan Cheema.
Therefore, two lady officers Rubina Kausar and Uzma Afzal went to Islampura Police Station and lodged a written complaint for registration of FIR against these officers, but the police did not do so by violating clear sections of the Criminal Procedure Code. Consequently, both the ladies moved the court of the District and Session Judge Lahore. “The petitioner is directed to appear before the SHO Police Station Islampura, Lahore, state the occurrence to him orally or in writing who shall reduce the same into writing as per law as provided under section 154 Cr. P.C. and if the cognizable offence comes out on the record, shall register the FIR in accordance with law.”
“Fresh applications along with the copy of the order of the court have been filed with the Police Station Islampura, but the police were reluctant to register the case against the big guns,” alleged Rai Manzoor Hussain Nasir, President of the Association.
