Car-jackers injure cops; FIR registered
RAWALPINDI: Police register First Information Report (FIR) of alleged murder attempt and possession of illegal weapons Thursday against the car lifters, who injured four cops with daggers during a raid at Pindora in the limits of New Town Police Station. The FIR was registered on the application of Sub Inspector (SI) Muneer Ahmed of RA Bazaar Police Station, who led the operation against the robbers.
In the application, Muneer mentioned that upon getting information from an arrested car lifter Rasheed, along with armed constables, Mujahid Abbas, Tahir Mehmood, Bilal Najam, Ishtiaq Ahmed, Ashiq Hussain while Sami Ullah and Maqsood Ahmed conducted a raid in a rented room, where two alleged car lifters Jamshed and Kashif were taking refuge. Both the accused were wanted to RA Bazaar Police Station in a car lifting case on May 5, he added. He narrated in the FIR that upon reaching in room, one of the accused Jamshed aimed his pistol on policemen and run away. When Ahmed, Mehmood and Hussain entered into the room to arrest the other accused Kashif, who upon seeing the cops, attacked on them with dagger injuring all of them seriously. However, police nabbed Kashif along with the dagger used in crime, he mentioned. Later, the abovementioned policemen were shifted to Holy Family Hospital (HFH), Muneer stated.
