Larkana: Police claim busting gang of kidnappers
LARKANA, May 5: Police on Thursday claimed to have busted a gang of kidnappers after recovering a three-year-old boy allegedly kidnapped by them on April 28 from Jaral Shah locality.
District Police Officer Mazhar Nawaz Shaikh said at a press conference here in the presence of abductors, kidnapped victim and his relatives that the kidnappers kept shifting the boy to and from Larkana, Shahdadkot and Sukkur and contacted the parents through mobile phone, seeking a huge ransom as ransom.
Abdul Qadir Siyal, mastermind of the kidnapping, was still at large although police had arrested five of his accomplices identified as Shahzado Jatoi, Aamir Kumbhar, Hubdar Kumbhar, Asif Brohi and Baban Brohi from a house in Shaikh Zayed Colony after a brief encounter and safely recovered the boy, said the DPO.
A team led by DSP Mohammad Amin Khoso and SHO Waheed Abro tracked down the gang, he said, adding women were also involved in the crime and police were on a hunt to lay hands on them.
Five TT pistols were also found in the possession of the gang members who had links in Balochistan and Karachi, he said.
Police have registered an FIR against the accused on a complaint lodged by Habibullah Shaikh.
