Man shot dead by robber in Nishtar Colony
LAHORE: A retired railway inspector was shot dead in a robbery incident in Nishtar Colony police jurisdiction. The deceased, identified as 65-year-old Rashid Ahmed, had come home after the Fajr prayers when an unidentified man jumped into the house. Upon Ahmed’s resistance, the robber opened fire at him.
The noise of the firing woke up the neighbours who rushed to the scene. The robber managed to escape the scene. Rashid had received serious injuries and died on the spot due to excessive bleeding.
His body was shifted to a morgue for autopsy and police has also registered a case against the unidentified man. Police said that the deceased did not have any children of his own and was the caretaker of his brother’s daughters. They said that investigation is also being done on lines other than the robbery resistance scenario.
