Karachi: Grenade lobbed at PAC chief’s plot
Karachi: A grenade was lobbed at an under-construction building of the chief of the defunct People’s Amn Committee (PAC) Uzair Baloch near Al–Jameel Hotel, Aath Chowk, in Kalakot police limits on Tuesday. Besides, two people were killed in different incidents on Tuesday night.
According to police, two unidentified suspects, riding a motorcycle, lobbed a grenade at the said under construction building, as a result a watchman of the plot sustained injuries.
The watchman, identified as Risalat, was taken to Civil Hospital Karachi where his condition was said to be out of danger. A parked vehicle was also slightly damaged in the blast. During investigation it was found that the plot belongs to Uzair Baloch.
The hand grenade was locally made and police apprehended that some gangsters attempted to settle scores with Uzair Baloch by attacking his plot.
Meanwhile, Adeel, a labourer, was shot dead by two bandits in Memon Goth police limits after he resisted the robbers from taking away his cellphone. The incident occurred when Adeel was returning from Ibrahim Shah Dargah and going to his house in Memon Goth area.
He received two bullet wounds on his head. Adeel hailed from Interior Sindh. In another incident, Hajri Raam (32) was killed near Essa Nagri in PIB Colony police limits. The deceased was travelling in a bus of G-19 route when a stray bullet hit him. He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The passengers of the bus said that they did not find any suspect opening fire on the bus but they could not imagine how a bullet hit him in the moving bus. However, a case has been registered and police were investigating the matter.
