Karachi: Man killed for refusing to surrender cell phone
Karachi: An elderly man was shot dead by bandits on resistance in Sharea Noor Jehan police limits Tuesday morning. Zafar Salman, 65, was gunned down in Sharea Noor Jehan limits. Police said that Zafar was present near the Intermediate Board Office, North Nazimabad, and was busy talking on his cell phone.
Two armed dacoits came and asked him to hand them over his cell phone at gunpoint and also demanded cash. Zafar resisted and the desperados opened fire, injuring Zafar and fled. He was rushed to the hospital by the public there.
During the treatment he succumbed to his injuries. The deceased was hit by a single bullet
The deceased was a resident of Block-P, North Nazimabad, and was a retired government servant. A case was lodged and investigation is in progress.
