Islamabad: 20 suspects arrested
ISLAMABD: As many as 20 suspects were arrested and 130 vehicles were impounded by the capital police on Wednesday during general hold-up, police said.
The capital police set up dozens of pickets at different roads while snap checking was also done. During the hold-up, the police arrested 20 suspects who failed to prove their identity. Besides, the police also impounded 103 motorcycles and 27 cars.
The Golra police recovered a 7MM rifle and arrested a court absconder, while the Nilor police arrested a court absconder, a proclaimed offender and recovered four pistols.
The Abpara and Kural police recovered a pistol and seven bottles of liquor respectively during the hold-up. Meanwhile, the capital police arrested 16 persons including three women and recovered a stolen motorcycle, 325 gram heroin, 1.2 kilogram hashish, two 30-bore pistols from them, police spokesman said. The Sabzi Mandi police raided a house and arrested five persons for their alleged involvement in sex-trade. The police also arrested three beggars.
