Karachi: 3 shot dead in city
Karachi: Three people were shot dead on Thursday, two of whom were killed by accidental gunfire. A 27-year-old cashier, working at Al-Hamd petrol pump in Buffer Zone, lost his life when a private security guard, Obaid, accidentally fired his rifle while checking it. Fellow employees rushed Hassan Zada to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, but succumbed to his wound.
The Tamuria police have arrested the security guard and registered the case. In another incident of accidental gunfire at the hands of a security guard, 55-year-old Aurangzeb was killed in Defense Phase-I.
The deceased security guard was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for legal formalities, after which police arrested Rafiq.
In another part of the city, 27-year-old Tanveer Khan was gunned down within the Malir City police limits by an unidentified individual riding at the back of a motorcycle.
Khan died on the spot and his body was transported to the JPMC for legal formalities. According to police, the deceased was an activist of the Awami National Party (ANP), and they suspect that his murder was yet another target killing case.
