Lashkar man shot dead in Mohmand
GHALLANAI: A pro–government peace committee member was killed and another was kidnapped in two different incidents in Mohmand Agency on Thursday, local sources said. The sources said that unidentified armed men opened fire on Kamil Shah, a member of the anti-militants peace committee in Chamar-kand area in Safi tehsil. The sources said Kamil Shah sustained several bullet injuries and died on the spot. Meanwhile, unidentified armed men kidnapped Ali Haider, a member of the peace committee in Dawezai area in Pindyali tehsil.
Sajjad Mohmand, spokes-person for the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, Mohmand Agency chapter, claimed responsibility for both incidents.
The sources said that four persons including two children were injured when a shell fired from an unknown location hit the house of one Sabz Ali in Qandaharo in Safi tehsil. Unconfirmed reports said that one person was killed in the incident and four others sustained injuries.
Also, suspected militants blew up a power pylon in Ghazi Kor in Halimzai tehsil. The political administration arrested 11 persons under the collective responsibility clause of the Frontier Crimes Regulations (FCR) as they had failed to prevent the incident in their area.
