Peshawar: Over 5,000kg Hashish seized

PESHAWAR, May 12: Police claimed on Thursday to have seized over 5,000kg hashish in raids and arrested alleged smugglers in limits of West Cantonment and Badbher police stations.

Police recovered 657kg hashish from a truck coming from Khyber Agency at Sahibzada Gul chowk, and arrested alleged smuggler Sabir of Landi Arbab Peshawar.

 

In another raid the police recovered 4,350kg hashish from a truck on Mashokhel road and arrested the carrier Malak Khan of Bara.



 

The police also recovered 1,200 cartridges of various bore, 20 rifles, three Kalashnikovs from the accused.

 

The spokesman said the narcotics valued at millions of rupees were being shif-ted to Punjab for onward transportation to different parts of the country and abroad.
