Karachi: 4 `TTP militants` remanded
KARACHI: A judicial magistrate on Friday remanded four suspected militants in police custody till May 18 in cases pertaining to possessing illicit weapons and explosives.
The CID police claimed to have arrested the four suspects — Maaz alias Irfan, Babar Iqbal alias Babli, Habib–ur-Rehman and Habibullah — in the Pirabad area on Thursday after a shoot-out and seized arms and explosives.
The suspects were produced before a judicial magistrate (west) who remanded them in the CID police custody till May18 and directed the investigation office to produce them in court on the next hearing.
The CID alleged that the suspects were associated with the proscribed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan and planning to attack government buildings and senior officials of the law-enforcement agencies.
They were booked under Sections 353 (criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 324 (attempted murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), Section 13-D of the Pakistan Arms Ordinance, 1965 and Section 4/5 of the Explosive Substance Act.
