Karachi: Bank heist suspects
KARACHI: A judicial magistrate on Friday remanded two suspected robbers in police custody in a bank heist case. The suspects — Waseem alias Wali and Sajjad alias Gul Faraz — along with their absconding accomplices have been booked for robbing a private bank near Chamra Chowrangi of Rs3.3 million from within the remit of the Korangi Industrial Area police station on May 11.
The police produced the suspects before a judicial magistrate (east) and sought their physical remand. The court remanded the suspects in police custody for five days.
A case (FIR 472/2011) was registered under Sections 392 (punishment for robbery) and 34 (common intention) of the PPC on a complaint of the branch manager. The police arrested the suspects near a bus stop in Korangi on Thursday and claimed to have recovered Rs900,000 from their possession.
