Karachi: Navy employee, PAC activist shot dead
Karachi: A Navy employee and an activist of People’s Amn Committee (PAC) were shot dead in different parts of the city on Friday. Syed Majid Hussain, 32, was shot dead in Raees Amrohi Colony, Sector-10, Orangi Town police limits on Friday morning.
According to police, Majid Hussain, an employee of Pakistan Navy’s Civilian Department at Dockyard, was returning to his house on his motorcycle after visiting a milk shop in the area when two armed men, riding a motorcycle and wearing helmets, intercepted him and sprayed him with bullets. He was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Majid Hussain received three bullets, one on his head and two at the lower torso. Police termed the murder of Majid Hussain a part of sectarian killings.
The deceased was married but had no children and he hailed from Gilgit Baltistan. Meanwhile, the body of Nadeem Khan, 35, was recovered from Khadda Market in Baghdadi police limits on Friday afternoon.
Police said that Nadeem was allegedly killed by his friend Mehboob at Fida Hussain Sheikha Road after both exchanged hot words over a girl. Both were said to be the most devoted activists of the defunct PAC.
During the dispute, Mehboob took out his weapon and hit Nadeem on his head as a result he fell unconscious.
Later, Mehboob put Nadeem into his vehicle and took him to Khadda Market where he shot dead Nadeem and fled. Both were the residents of Fida Hussain Sheikha Road. Police have registered a case and searching for Mehboob.
