Lahore: 2 wardens, three students injured
LAHORE: Two traffic wardens and three activists of Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) sustained severe injuries in a clash near Kutchery Chowk on Friday.
It was reported that four activists of IJT were on their way to Islamia College, Civil Lines, when two traffic wardens Sufiyan and Mushtaq stopped them on traffic violation at Kutchery Chowk. Both the parties started exchanging hot words with each other then a fight ensued.
As a result, both the wardens and three students Ghulam Abbas, Ejaz and Sajid received injuries. IJT spokesman Mudassar Shah has strongly criticised the police, terming the Punjab province as police state. He demanded immediate action against the responsible policemen involved in the said incident.
SP City Dr. Shahzad said that responsible persons would be taken to task and a case would be registered against them. No arrest was made till the filing of this report.
