Karachi: 3 PPP workers injured in inter-party clash
KARACHI: Three workers of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) were injured in a clash with its own student wing, Peoples Students Federation (PSF) in a rally against the Lahore High Court decision in President Asif Zardari’s dual-office case. According to the sources, PPP and PSF workers clashed over some dispute at Banaras Chowk and the skirmish soon turned into a gun battle which left three people injured.
One worker identified as Ghyasuddin, general secretary Ward 93 sustained bullet wounds while president PSF Faisal Sheikh and other workers sustained injuries during baton charge. SP Khurram Waris said that the situation was soon controlled by the law enforcement agencies. Three people were also arrested by the law enforcement agencies. No case could be registered till filing of this report. Intense firing caused panic resulting in the suspension of commercial and non-commercial activities in locality.
