Okara: Marriage refusal: 4 of a family injured in acid attack
OKARA: Four of a family, including two sisters, were critically injured when a man threw acid on them for refusing his marriage proposal at Sarai-e-Amar Singh village in the wee hours of Thursday.
Acting DPO Younis Butt told The News that Mushtaq Ahmed wanted to marry Saima Bibi, but her parents refused his proposal. He said that the accused had threatened to throw acid on the family. He said that Mushtaq Ahmed with three accomplices, including Azam, jumped into the house of Saima Bibi and sprayed acid on the sleeping family, including Saima Bibi and Iram Bibi. He said that Saima’s brothers Adil and Danish survived the attack. He said that on the hue and cry of the victims, locals gathered there and shifted the injured to Mayo Hospital Lahore. On the report of victims’ mother Rasheeda Bibi, the Hujra Shah Muqeem police have registered a case against the accused under sections 324, 336 of the PPC and 7-ATA. The police have arrested Mushtaq and Azam.
