Dacoit gang busted in Khanewal
KHANEWAL: The police have arrested three members of a dacoit gang and recovered booty and illicit arms from them. It was disclosed by DPO Waqar Abbasi in a press conference held at DPO office on Friday. The DPO told the media that the police arrested gang’s ring leader Ghulam Abbas of Nizampur Challaywala, Shah Rasool Khan of Charsada and Muhammad Sabir Arain of Harappa.
The police also recovered stolen articles including cars and bikes from the accused besides recovering illicit arms from them, he informed. The DPO revealed that during primarily investigation, accused Ghulam Abbas confessed to abduct Sheikh Haris of Lahore and two others from Sialkot and all were released later after receiving Rs 2.5 million ransom from their heirs. The accused also disclosed that his other gang members, Shakeel Ahmad, Kashif and Muhammad Bilal had been killed in various police encounters, the DPO maintained. The gang members also confessed to commit 22 dacoity and robbery incidents in various cities, the DPO added.
