Karachi: Man killed over elopement marriage
Karachi: Police arrested a man in the Korangi Industrial Area on Friday after he allegedly murdered the husband of his niece over their elopement marriage.
Twenty-three-year-old Haroon, son of Imran, died when Jan Muhammad Khattak and his accomplice opened fire on him near his residence. Upon hearing the gunshots, a police mobile reached the spot and forced Khattak to surrender, while his accomplice, Naeem, fled the scene.
The police shifted the body to the JPMC for legal formalities. They took the suspect into custody. When he was interrogated, the suspect told the law enforcers that Haroon had fallen in love with his niece in their native town of Hingo and the couple eloped and got married. Khattak had been searching for Haroon for a while and when he came across him in the Korangi area, he decided to murder the young man.
